
The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Honourable Onoriode Oborevwori, has urged the management and players of Warri Wolves to ‘stay focused and avoid distractions’ as they work towards gaining promotion and returning the club to the Nigerian Elite League.
Oborevwori gave this charge while addressing the players and coaching staff after their impressive first away victory of the season against Edel FC of Awka during their Week 6 encounter on Sunday.Accompanied by the Director General of the Sports Commission, Mr. Festus Ohwojero, Oborevwori had earlier inspired the team with motivational talks following their Week 5 goalless draw at home against Smart City FC of Lagos. He urged them to ‘remain determined and win their remaining matches.’
The Chairman warned warri wolves players against underestimating any opponent, stating that ‘there are no minnows in football anymore,’ and emphasized the importance of discipline in achieving their goals. “Without discipline, nothing tangible can be achieved,” he said.
Oborevwori reassured the players that the team’s management under his leadership would prioritize their welfare and support them fully in their quest for promotion.
Warri Wolves secured their victory against Edel FC with goals from Oroh Ezekiel and Ebhohon Jude, keeping their promotion campaign on track.
The Seasiders will next host 1472 FC of Lagos in their Week 7 encounter as they aim to maintain their momentum.
