
Delta State Police have arrested 27-year-old Kelvin Obakpororo in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, Excellence, who was also the mother of his two young sons.
The arrest was confirmed by the State Police Command spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Bright Edafe, in Asaba.

The tragic incident, which saw Excellence killed between June 26 and 27 of this year in Sapele, garnered significant attention on social media. After initially evading authorities, Obakpororo was apprehended and is currently in police custody.
Superintendent Edafe assured the public that justice for Excellence would be pursued, stating that the suspect would be arraigned in court promptly.

Obakpororo has claimed he was under the influence of drugs, specifically 200mg of tramadol, when the murder occurred.

He recounted an argument with Excellence, during which she allegedly grabbed a knife and he armed himself with a hammer. “I struck her on the forehead three times with the hammer before she fell and died,” he confessed, expressing remorse and claiming he “didn’t know she would die.” Obakpororo, who stated he is involved in internet fraud, acknowledged that he and Excellence shared two sons, aged three and two.
