Preliminary investigations suggest that driver fatigue may have been a significant factor in the accident. The FRSC official speculated that the bus driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the catastrophic collision.
Despite the horrific nature of the incident, the FRSC was able to identify the deceased through the bus’s manifest. They have since made contact with the victims’ families, providing them with the tragic news.
In contrast to the bus passengers, the truck driver and his assistant escaped the accident without injuries. Their survival highlights the sheer force of the impact and the vulnerability of the bus occupants.
The FRSC commander reiterated the importance of avoiding fatigue while driving, particularly on long journeys. He urged drivers to take regular breaks and rest whenever they feel tired to prevent similar tragic incidents.-
