
Addressing the 2025 Delta State Thanksgiving and Praise Day event held at the Events Centre in Asaba on Thursday, Governor Oborevwori expressed confidence that the state’s crucial partnership with the Federal Government, as a leading contributor to national revenue, would bring increasingly substantial benefits to Deltans
He conveyed his gratitude to the people of Delta for their collective support, unity, and dedication to the state’s peace and advancement over the preceding two years, promising a future of even greater progress.
Governor Oborevwori declared, “To God’s glory, this administration has reached its mid-point. These past two years have concentrated on solidifying prior achievements, venturing into new territories, and establishing novel pathways for the socio-economic betterment of our cherished Delta State.”
He added, “It is a tradition in Delta State to attribute all accomplishments to God, and today’s gathering serves as an expression of our profound appreciation.”
Highlighting the progress made thus far, he noted that the state had abundant reasons for gratitude.
He stated: “Yesterday, I presented our midterm report to the State House of Assembly. It is a comprehensive documentation of progress across all indicators of socio-economic development. Truly, God has been faithful to us.”
“As you are aware,” he continued, “thanksgiving serves as a plea for more. We desire further blessings, and that is our purpose in giving thanks today.”
He remarked: “Commencing the third year of our administration with gratitude, I trust God will continue to expand our fortunes and fulfill our shared aspirations as a populace.”
“I am delighted to observe the comprehensive representation of our federal lawmakers, federal appointees, and leaders from our esteemed party, the APC, present here today,” he said. “This assembly distinctly exemplifies our state’s diversity and solidarity.”
“I believe our unity is stronger now than ever before, and we will persevere in this unity, by God’s grace. The individuals gathered here today represent the prominent figures of Delta State. For the first time in a decade, we are united. All glory be to God.”
Governor Oborevwori implored Deltans to maintain their prayers for the state as it advances along its trajectory of peace and progress.

“We earnestly seek your prayers and ongoing support in our mission to enhance Delta State through the MORE Agenda. I assure you all that we will achieve more, and we will engage more actively with the populace.”
He concluded, “The forthcoming two years of this administration will be an exhilarating journey of transformative leadership. As a significant contributor to the national treasury, Delta State truly merits and will obtain increased benefits from the central government.”
Delivering a sermon titled “Giving Thanks and Enduring to Keep the Unity in the Bond of Peace,” drawing from Ephesians 4:3, Archbishop Cyril Odutemu of Bendel Province, Anglican Communion, extended his congratulations to Governor Oborevwori and the citizens of Delta State on the administration’s second anniversary.

He commended the Governor for his remarkable accomplishments within two years, characterizing him as “a destined leader.”
The Archbishop observed that former skeptics or those who had underestimated Oborevwori’s leadership were now witnessing his impressive performance.
He highlighted the successful completion of the Ughelli-Asaba Highway as a key project that had further solidified the Governor’s popularity among the populace.
StressIng the paramount importance of unity and inclusiveness, he advised the Governor to foster strong relationships with crucial stakeholders throughout the state.
The Archbishop additionally offered supplications for Governor Oborevwori, praying for divine assistance in fulfilling his mandate and for the prevalence of peace and unity in Delta State.
The Thanksgiving and Praise Day celebration saw the attendance of numerous distinguished guests, including the Governor’s wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori; Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme and his wife, Catherine; Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife, Edith; Senators Ned Nwoko, Ede Dafinone, and Joel-Onowakpo Thomas; the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo; the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; members of the House of Representatives; and the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Elder Omeni Sobotie, among other prominent dignitaries.
