where a 13-year-old primary school pupil was apprehended for allegedly threatening his fellow students with a pistol. The young suspect, a student at Saint Paul’s Primary School in Ikot Ibiok, Eket Local Government Area, has confessed to possessing the firearm since November 2024.
The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, revealed this alarming information during a press briefing held in Uyo on Wednesday. According to Commissioner Azare, the police received credible intelligence around 8 a.m. on January 30th, detailing the boy’s presence on school grounds with a pistol and his threats to open fire on his classmates.

Acting swiftly on this information, police operatives from the Akwa Ibom State Command immediately mobilized and apprehended the young suspect.
