The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reportedly dismissed over 200 police officers, including several Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs), for offenses including forgery, corruption, and exceeding their official tenure.
These dismissals follow internal investigations and are part of an effort to combat misconduct within the police force.

The action comes amidst reports of widespread age falsification among officers and calls for the removal of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who is himself accused of age forgery to extend his tenure.
Critics argue that while the PSC’s actions are a positive step, they must also address alleged misconduct at the highest levels of the police hierarchy, not just among lower-ranking officers.
