
The Anambra State Government has demolished a hotel operating as a front for a kidnapping ring along the Onitsha-Owerri Road. The operation, conducted by security forces, revealed a horrifying scene within the two-story building.
Investigators discovered over 30 graves meticulously partitioned on the top floor, alongside a shrine and a cache of live ammunition. Blood-stained items and cartridges were also recovered and handed over to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation.
The hotel’s owner has been linked to numerous kidnapping incidents, and the local community had been living in fear due to frequent gunshots emanating from the premises.
The demolition follows the enactment of the Anambra State Homeland Security Law of 2025, which empowers authorities to take decisive action against criminal elements.This incident highlights the government’s ongoing crackdown on criminal activities and its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
